Australian Archdiocese donates $100,000 for stem cell research

Cardinal George Pell, who announced the grant, says the Church is opposed to the use of embryos for research, but adult stem cells can be used to treat heart and liver disease.It’s the fourth grant of its kind that the Archdiocese of Sydney puts forth for stem cell research. In the last six years they’ve committed over $250,000 to research Parkinson’s disease, regenerative skin, and neurons all through adult stem cells. RSS
