Benedict XVI asks for peace in Kyrgyzstan

Benedict XVI“I want to make an urgent appeal so that peace and security are quickly restored in southern Kyrgyzstan, following serious clashes in recent days.”

Benedict XVI also brought to attention the 40 million people throughout the world displaced by violence. ; The Pope spoke about World Refugee Day, celebrated by the United Nations.

Benedict XVI“Refugees want to find acceptance and be recognized in their dignity and their fundamental rights, at the same time, they want to offer their contribution to the society that welcomes them.”

The Pope concluded the Angelus by saluting those in attendance in St. Peter?s Square—in particular, members of the Ferrari Club of Italy, which parked a number of exotic sports cars beneath Benedict XVI?s window.
