Benedict XVI calls for challenge to be transformed by Christ

“The liturgical celebrations of this holy season, from Christmas through the Epiphany to the Baptism of the Lord, challenge us to be completely transformed by the Son of God who became man so that we might attain our ultimate human fulfillment by sharing in his glorious divine life.” ;

As we head into 2011, the Pope reminded the audience about the deep bond that unites the Incarnation and the Redemption. ;

He reflected on the journey of Jesus from being born in a manger to his presence today in the Eucharist. ;

“Jesus? humbling of himself, beginning with his conception in the womb of the Virgin Mary, will find its fullest expression the paschal mystery of his death and resurrection.”

In his speech, the Pope offered his prayers in celebration of Christmas and for a prosperous New Year. ;
