Pope urges bishops to involve the whole society in defense of the family

Benedict XVI noted that education programs which trivialize sexuality present a challenge to many households and something the Church must face head on. This along with problems of immigration, poverty, and a rapidly changing culture all present specific challenges to the formation of the family. The letter also states that every effort to promote the family through the union of a man and a woman is a praiseworthy action. Something that he called the “seedbed of virtue,” which would lead to the “environment in which human life is joyously and responsibly welcomed.” AE-GP BN
