Pope defends marriage during Family Day in Croatia

The pope specifically addressed young adults, by asking them to not be afraid of committing to one?s partner in marriage or in building a family. Benedict XVI "Be brave! Do not yield to the secular mentality of coexistence as a type of training for marriage or even as a substitute for it. In your life, be a witness to how it?s possible to love, like Christ, without reservation. You should not be afraid of committing to another person.”The pope thanked families for defending marriage and life. He also thanked them for proposing laws that support those who have children. He also urged bishops to bring forth initiatives that help families. Especially, in preparing them well for marriage. And also, in overcoming the challenges that may follow. Benedict XVI ; "Your daily task of helping the new generation in its formation of faith, marriage preparation and support of families, is a fundamental way to regenerate the Church and to revive the country?s social fabric.”The Pope asked all fathers and mothers to teach ; their children to pray and to pray with them. As a symbol of unity, several married couples took part in the celebration by carrying the Mass offerings along with their children. JMB/KLH CTVBN
