Archbishop Luis Ladaria honored at the Pontifical Gregorian University

He left in 2008 when Benedict XVI asked him to become the number two of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, which protects the doctrine of the Church on an international level. ;

“I have always had very good relationship with all my colleagues and my students. I know they care for me very much and I felt this affection is not new but I knew long ago that affection existed and I certainly reciprocate with all my soul”.

Officials of the University spoke about the Archbishop?s theological thinking. Later, Monsignor Ladaria closed the ceremony, by thanking the group. ;

He also talked about the last document he signed as secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. It included directions for the next Year of the Faith.

“Let us read very well all that the pope has said to us and try to implement it. This is the time. Fifty years since the Council has been a pivotal event in the history of the Church, and for the Church in this last half century, and the catechism, which is a result of the Council that shows us in a synthetic way, our complete faith”.

His congregation will play a key role in the Year of the Faith, which will run from October 11th until November 24, 2013.
