More than 500 Mexican children write thank you cards to the pope for his visit

ROSA MARíA ORDAZ Journalist "Some children came and told me, 'Take me with you because you'll be near the pope'. I told them it was very difficult but what I could do was bring the pope a letter that they wrote. And that's how this whole initiative with the kids letters began.â? Rosa Maria's small invitation to a child turned into 500 letters with pictures, drawings and messages from Mexican children to the Pope. ROSA MARíA ORDAZ Journalist "There were letters I read that said, 'I can't see you personally, I could not be on the fence because I'm sick, I couldn't be there but I saw you on TV and that made me very happy, and maybe one day I'll come to see you and I am praying for you.â? Rosa Maria Ordaz considers herself an ambassador for these children and a bridge between Mexico and the Vatican. These letters will soon be delivered to Benedict XVI and she hopes to bring a response back to the children. PH/AE AA - JM - PR
