Pope heads toward Lebanon amid Mid-East Turmoil

All of these recent developments come on top of expectations as to how the pope would handle visiting a country that was next door to the ongoing civil war in Syria. Currently, Lebanon is handling a wave of tens of thousands of refugees. At its current rate, it's expected some 40,000 Syrian refugees will be in Lebanon by December. ;

In addition to these realities, Benedict XVI will be delivering his Apostolic Exhortation on the Middle East, a document that will address the situation of Christians in the region. ;
