Celebrating a musical anniversary with the Pope

ALESSANDRO PASCUASI Associazione Musicale Giacomo Puccini-Cittí  di Cave (Italy) "The association is made up mostly young musicians. Throughout the year they practice twice a week. In the summer, when everyone is out on the beach, they perform in festivals, parades and concerts.â? Even though they're all busy with school or work, they all make the time for music. In fact, Danila is also a mother and it's actually not the first time she has taken part in a Papal audience. DANILA ROTONDI Associazione Musicale Giacomo Puccini -Cittí  di  Cave (Italy) "It's very exciting. I also had the opportunity to participate in an audience with Pope John Paul II. We were very nervous because it was the first time we were in St. Peter's Square.â? After the adrenaline and the performance comes the most important moment of all: a reaction and applause from the Pope. They say that without a doubt, that is the best reward of all. ALESSANDRO PASCUASI President, Associazione Musicale Giacomo Puccini-Cittí  di Cave (Italy) "I'm also a musician and so I was especially excited. I was touched when the Pope, who is a music expert, applauded after we played the hymn. Then I had the honor of greeting him. He congratulated me and then asked me to congratulate the director and the musicians of the association, on his behalf.â? Once the Papal audience was officially over, the music kept on playing outside the Vatican's Paul VI Hall. Many of these musicians know that playing for the Pope will be one of most unforgettable performance of their lives. OFL @ odelafu /KLH AA -JM -PR
