Priorities for New Pope: The New Evangelization

Benedict XVI focused on this issue during the last years of his pontificate. He called on the Church to regain a presence where it has lost ground and above all to re-connect with society.  The last synod of bishops discussed how to manage the New Evangelization. So, it's very likely that the next Pope will draft a document with all the conclusions and ideas that came about in this meeting of bishops. ARCH. RINO FISICHELLA President, Pontifical Council for the New Evangelization  "Right now we need to go back to the basics.  We need to be a community that announces the living encounter with Christ  and the joy that comes when we connect with the Lord. If we remain closed off and live independently, separated from others, the New Evangelization will not be a success.â? The New Evangelization can be applied in the family, the media and of course through the Sacraments. So, the future Pope will have to continue with the New Evangelization, focusing on why and how religion and faith are still relevant to every day people. Along those same lines, Benedict XVI launched the Year of Faith, now the next Pope will have to take the lead. RCG/KLH RR ND -PR u.VIC
