Wide Range of Music played during WYD in Brazil

Brazil is famously known for its music. During World Youth Day, there was plenty of it. The closing ceremony was marked by a massive flash mob, where millions danced to a song titled Francis. ; ;

But the selection of music had a range of different genres. Days before that, a more classical tune, rang through Rio's city theater, as the official World Youth Day hymn was played by an orchestra, to welcome Pope Francis on the stage. ;

During the prayer vigil in Copacabana beach, powerful tunes were played during the prayer vigil with the Pope. Classic music was definitely part of the massive gathering. ;

There was also more lively, solo performances as well, like this one. ;

Among the musical talent, young children, also played a key role day in and day out. From time to time, it seemed like there was improvised singing, to get the crowds ready for the Pope's visit.

Moving moments, like this one where a musicians singed and prayed on their knees during a Eucharistic adoration, were seen all over the world. ;

But perhaps the song that stuck in people's minds was one that rang out the name 'Francis' in Portuguese. The catchy tune, proved to be a winner, with millions, singing along during World Youth Day. ;
