Most recent attacks against Christians in Nigeria, still under investigation

Investigations are still underway, in the Nigerian city of Kano, where recently at least53 people where killed, in what seems to be targeted attacks against Christians.

The archbishop of Lagos, Alfred Adewale Martins, condemned Sunday attacks, which are attributed to Islamist terrorist group, Boko Haram.

The Vatican has been very outspoken in denouncing these type of attacks. In fact during his first Urbi et Orbi prayer, Pope Francis directly addressed it.

POPE FRANCIS March, 31, 2013 "Peace for Africa, still the scene of violent conflicts. In Mali, may unity and stability be restored; in Nigeria, where attacks sadly continue, gravely threatening the lives of many innocent people, and where great numbers of persons, including children, are held hostage by terrorist groups.

At least one of the explosions was set off at a Pentecostal church, as Sunday worship was underway.
