Reinhard Marx: One of eight cardinals who will advise the Pope on reforming the Curia

The group of eight cardinals, commissioned with reforming the Roman Curia, includes German Cardinal Reinhard Marx, who is also the Archbishop of Munich. He studied moral theology and social doctrine in his native Germany.

The Pope made it a point to choose someone from every continent, so the 60 year old German cardinal will of course be representing Europe.

Marx was made a cardinal by Benedict XVI back in November 2010. As the Archbishop of Munich, he has the same title Benedict XVI had back in the late 70's.

In March 2013, Marx was elected president of the Bishopsâ?? Commission, which is accredited at the European Union. The cardinal is also a member of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches.
