Pope Francis announces trip to the Holy Land, from May 24 to May 26

During his Sunday angelus, Francis announced that he will go to Amman (Jordania), Bethlehem in the West Bank, and Jerusalem.

The Pope will attend an ecumenical ceremony at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, with the main orthodox leader, patriarch Bartholomew.

That announcement and the trip "commemorate the 50th anniversary of the historic meeting between Pope Paul VI and Patriarch Athenagoras I of Constantinople" in 1964.
