Vatican delegation addresses sex abuse crackdown before United Nations body

(-VIDEO ONLY-) A Vatican delegation, led by Msgr. Silvano Tomassi, appeared in Geneva before the United Nations commission tasked with enforcing the Child Rights' treaty.

Their goal was to explain the measures the Holy See has enforced to fight and prevent further sexual abuse.

Tomasi recognized that the abuses by Church members are "particularly serious since these persons are in positions of great trust and they are called to levels of service that are to promote and protect all elements of the human person.

They also brought up changes Pope Francis has set in place, like the creation of a Vatican commission tasked with handling these cases, and helping out victims.
