University of the Holy Cross prepares international seminar on Church Communication

The election of Pope Francis has changed the way the Church presents Herself to the world. The Pope likes to be among the people and his messages are quite direct.

The Pontifical University of the Holy Cross is getting ready for an international seminar that delves into Church communication. It's a way for those who work in the field to understand what tools they can use to better communicate their message.

DANIEL ARASA

Pontifical University of the Holy Cross

"The communication of this Pope is characterized by spontaneity,  creativity and positivity. I think these are three elements that are really characteristics of our seminar.â?

The conference is titled "Church Communication: Creative Strategies for Promoting Culture Change. The three day conference will begin April 28th, a day after John XXIII and John Paul II are canonized

From round tables to discussions, the conference will have a bit of everything. Guest speakers include big names in Church communication.

DANIEL ARASA

Pontifical University of the Holy Cross

"The opening session will be given by American Cardinal Dolan, the Archbishop of New York. He will talk abut the challenges faced by those involved in Church communications. The closing session will be done by Joaquín Navarro-Valls, former director of the Vatican's Press Office who worked very closely with John Paul II.â?

Out of all the challenges found in Church communication nowadays, Spanish professor and journalist Daniel Arasa thinks one stands out: The challenge of finding a new and appropriate language to transmit the Christian message in a modern world
