Young people hand out thousands of rosaries at St. Peter's to prepare for the canonization

As the canonization of John Paul II and John XXIII draws near, thousands of pilgrims are gathering at St. Peter's Square. This group came all the way from Texas to hand out their 'cell phone' rosaries in Rome. HORACIO GOMEZ Marianminute.org "We are here to give thanks to Pope John Paul II, and we brought with us a gift for the people. They are 30.000 stickers you can put on the back of your cell phone. It helps you remeber you have to pray the rosary.â? They're members of the online platform 'Marian Minute,' which encourages users to pray to Our Lady at least one minute per day. This initiative started three years ago and every time there's a large Catholic event, they show up with a new article. For instance, this bracelet. HORACIO GOMEZ Marianminute.org  "We want to promote the prayer to Our Lady, specially among young people in international events. We started at the WYD Madrid 2011, and since then we've had 300,000 users visiting our page.â? Full of enthusiasm and wearing their best smiles, they will fill the Eternal City with their bracelets and rosaries. "People are welcoming the initiative. We are full of energy.â? So now, pilgrims attending the canonization of John Paul II and John XXIII will have the chance to go back home with a useful and unique reminder of the event.  AFP/PM MG FA -PR Up: YJA
