Pope Francis arrives in Jordan

(-VIDEO ONLY-) The papal plane landed at Amman Queen Alia International Airport at 1 p.m. (local time). The welcoming committee included Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Fouad Twal, Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Custos of the Holy Land, and Jordanian Prince Ghazi bin Muhammed, on behalf of King Abdullah II.

At 1:15 p.m., Pope Francis headed by car to the Al-Husseini Royal Palace in Amman, about 24 miles from the airport. There, he will meet with King Abdullah and his wife, Queen Rania.
