International Online Network: Catholic.net turns 15

It took 15 years to get there, but Catholic.net made it. It's a website that gives a voice to Catholics and to Christian media outlets worldwide. Over the years, it has become one of the most important Catholic international networks. There were challenges along the way,  but three major goals made it a lot easier.

"The first one is transmitting the faith and spreading the message. The second is to offer something for free if we received it for free. The third is service.â?

Through a set of articles published on this website, many people have found God and strengthened their faith.  Some marriages have even been saved. Not only that though...some people's lives have been saved, quite literally.

"One of the initiatives is titled 'Don't kill it, give it to me.' It's a campaign to help young women who are pregnant, but don't have the means, moral strength or support to have the baby. So, this initiative gathers a network of families that are willing to adopt the newborn. Through agencies or different support outlets, they find economic, psychological or spiritual support. They help these women out during the adoption process. Some eventually decide to have the baby and raise it themselves.â?

This program saved the lives of roughly 200 children. It's an initiative that includes more than 3,000 families that are willing to adopt a child and 150 associations that logistically help make it happen.

Usually online visitors at Catholic.net also seek support on dealing with pain and suffering. Because of this, it now has a virtual help center, where anyone in need can seek out assistance from an expert who is willing to help.

"These are the type of things that motivate us to keep on going. Despite the challenges, this proves that it's well worth it.â?

It's a journey that hasn't been easy, but the last 15 years have proved that without a doubt, it's been well worth it.
