The United States calls the Islamic State and Boko Haram, the Nigerian terrorist group associated with Daesh, 'one of the most egregious violators of religious freedom in the world.â?
These were the statements made in an annual report by the United States Department of State on international religious freedom. The paper analyzes the degree of freedom of religion that exists in every country, by studying their laws and their governments.
The U.S. government has already commented on other occasions on this 'genocideâ? against religious minorities being committed by the Islamic State. International organizations such as Aid to the Church in Need agree that using this more forthright term can help shed light on the situation of persecuted religious minorities.

The report also criticized some European governments, such as Hungary and Slovakia, for attempting to discriminate against refugees because of their religious beliefs.
