Pope invited 1,500 poor people to eat pizza at the Vatican after the canonization
Attendees receive help from the Missionaries of Charity.
If Italy is known for something, it is pizza. It is not surprising then, that this is one of the most commonly eaten dishes in the country.
The pope, in fact, invited 1,500 sick and needy to eat pizza at the Vatican after the canonization of Mother Teresa. Not just any pizza, but Neapolitan; which has an even better reputation. Here, in fact, we see him greeting those in charge of this rather large business. They even brought three ovens to the Vatican to prepare all the food.
"I lost my job in 2013. Mother Teresa's sisters wanted to give me a gift by inviting me to the canonization.â?
"Pizza with cheese. Delicious!"
"I collaborate with the Missionaries of Charity. I think this pizza seemed like a beautiful initiative."
Attendees were largely people who come to the Missionaries of Charity centers throughout Italy.
The pope did not want to miss the chance to reach out to the needy on such a special occasion, the canonization day of the woman who dedicated her life to the poorest of the poor.
