Pope Francis continues to strengthen ties with the Muslim world. In the Apostolic Palace library, he met with Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Mohammed bin Zayed, the Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

It was a formal, but very warm meeting. The day before, the pope had asked religious leaders from around the world to condemn terrorists who use God's name to justify violence. Mohammed bin Zayed is one of them. On his Twitter account, messages in favor of dialogue and respect are commonly seen. In fact, Pope Francis gave him a medallion symbolizing reconciliation.

During the meeting, they discussed humanitarian issues and bilateral cooperation. After the meeting, Mohammed bin Zayed, met with the Secretary of State, Pietro Parolin, to sign a bilateral agreement.
