LIVE: Inauguration of Nativity scene and Christmas tree in St. Peter's Square

After numerous days of preparation, the Vatican inaugurates the Nativity scene in St. Peter's Square. The Abbey of Montevergine donated the Neapolitan-style figures displayed this year.

The nearly 92-foot-tall Christmas tree comes from Poland

The Nativity scene and tree will remain lit until January 7, 2018, when the Church celebrates the Baptism of Christ.
