Pope Francis’ Mass in Temuco was characterized by indigenous music, languages, and decorations. Many from the Mapuche community were also there.

It was a celebration dedicated to the 'progress of the peoples' in which the pope asked for a greater respect for the indigenous communities and the environment. He wants others to appreciate their unique characteristics and acknowledge the value they have in society. With this plea, the pope made a strong call for national unity.
