Pope Francis already has a meeting with politicians set for his 48 hours in Dublin. His first speech will be in Dublin Castle with authorities, civil society and diplomatic corps. It will be an important topic after the referendum that opened the door to abortion in this traditionally-Catholic country.

The same day he will visit a day centre for homeless families run by the Capuchin Fathers. He will participate in a prayer vigil for the families there.

On Sunday, August 26th, he will visit the Knock Shrine, 112 miles from the capital. It is the most important shrine in the country, since the Blessed Mother, St. Joseph and St. John the Baptist appeared there in 1879.

Afterwards, in Dublin, the pope will end the World Meeting of Families with a large Mass in a central park. Families from all over the world will participate, and announce the venue for the next meeting. The pope will return to Rome at 11p.m. on the same day.
