Miguel Idrogo is a Venezuelan singer who once was drowning in difficulties, about to lose his marriage, job and his friends.

'I was completely sad and depressed. It's like I was in solitude in a desert and I cried out to the Lord, 'forgive me and have mercy.' God is an immense love. In his immense mercy, He forgave me and I felt his love. He took me off those bandages. I had been completely blind.'

After this conversion, he fulfilled his dream of working in music. He never imagined that he would have composed Catholic songs, but he started writing them as a way to speak to God.

'It was my way of praying. I did not know many prayers, nor the liturgy. Only my songs brought me closer to Him. In that way, I also began to discover His Church and began to attend retreats. Then my music made it something personal.'

Little by little, he began to play his songs for his family and friends. Since they liked them so much, he decided to record an album. He released it two years ago and called it, 'Volví a respirar,' or 'I started breathing again' in English. He says the meaning of life was restored in him, watching how his music could help others get closer to God.

'I feel like the Lord called me to touch the hearts of many young people with music. Many, like me, have been lost in alcoholism, have overused the gift of sexuality or have been caught up in drugs. Through this music you can know the love of God and His holy Catholic Church.'

Among more than 400 requests to perform at the World Youth Day in Panama, Miguel was selected and will participate in January 2019. He hopes to have his second album ready to present at this event.
