The Lenten season has begun and the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney has launched their Lent Calendar app for 2019 to help keep track of this season of transformation.

Each day the app shares a special video feature explaining a part of Lent. There are also daily gospels, reflections, and suggested acts of penance.

This year the app's theme is “Only what is loved can be saved; only what is embraced can be transformed.” It is inspired by one of Pope Francis's WYD speeches.

The app is accessible to everyone but puts a particular emphasis on reaching young people. The aim is to teach the deeper meaning of Lent in a dynamic way.

The free Lent Calendar App is available on the Apple and Google Play store under the name Xt3
