They are years with diplomatic achievements, such as the reconciliation between Cuba and the United States during Obama's administration.
There were also achievements in religious freedom. The pope for the first time was able to welcome two bishops from mainland China to participate in a synod.

However, there have also been difficult moments, such as dealing with the sexual abuse crisis within the Church.
Pope Francis convened a world summit on the protection of minors to address the scandals. Its objective was to make Catholic bishops aware of the urgency in confronting this problem.

Pope Francis has carried out major reforms. He has sought to reform the curia and above all mentalities. The pope has encouraged Christian initiatives to help solve current problems, both big and small. Some examples, range from the care of the most needy, to the protection of the environment.
Another important request of Pope Francis is the care and welcoming of refugees. The world watched in astonishment as he visited a refugee camp in Greece. He preached by example and brought several Muslim families with him to Rome.

Pope Francis originally predicted his pontificate would be short. However, six years later and he is still going.
In October, he will preside over another Synod. This time on the Amazon. In 2019 alone, he has already traveled to Panama and United Arab Emirates.
His next trips will be to Morocco, Macedonia, Bulgaria and Romania. Additionally, at the end of the year it is also expected another trip will be confirmed to Japan.
