LIVE: Pope meets “Visconti” High School students to mark Jubilee Year of St. Aloysius

Pope Francis is meeting with students from Rome's “Visconti” high school in Paul VI Audience Hall.

It is to mark the Jubilee Year of St. Luis Gonzaga. He famously renounced his family wealth in order to become a Jesuit. He died at the young age of 23, after attending to those suffering from the plague in 1591.

Last year the Holy See announced the celebration of this young saint from March 9, 2018 to March 9, 2019. It is a time for the Church focused a lot on young people, with the Youth Synod in 2018 and Panama World Youth Day in 2019.
