Cardinal Robert Sarah has published his third book. It is entitled, “The Day Is Now Far Spent.” In it, he reflects on the crisis of faith.

CARD. ROBERT SARAH
Prefect, Congregation for Divine Worship
“The crisis is not taking the Gospel seriously. This is to say that each one decides what interests him or her to remain satisfied.”

The cardinal does not agree with those who think in order to come out of the crisis means watering down the Catholic Doctrine, so it is easier to live out.

“Do you think a husband can diminish his love for his wife? How can he diminish it? Can a woman diminish her love for her husband? Our relationship with God is a relationship of love. Doctrine is not a rule. It is an expression of love.”
“In love the details are very important to express our affection. If we simplify it, we are no longer in love.”

Robert Sarah was born in Guinea-Conakri 74 years ago. He thinks Africa can help heal Europe from the spiritual crisis it is experiencing. Part of the reason is because in over a hundred years the number of Catholics has risen from two million to 200 million.

CARD. ROBERT SARAH
Prefect, Congregation for Divine Worship
“God wants Africa to have an important role in the salvation of the world, despite that today Africa counts for nothing. It is despised economically, politically and scientifically. However, God takes what is nothing to show his power.”
“The Lord makes use of Africa for the salvation of the family; of life; of values; of transcendence; of relationships between man and God. We have not lost this.”

The book “The Day Is Now Far Spent” closes the trilogy that began with “God or nothing” and continued with “The power of silence.” Although this trilogy is finished, he says he is already collecting material for a new book.
