LIVE: Pope Francis canonizes five new saints

On Oct. 13, Pope Francis will canonize five blesseds in St. Peter's Square. It stresses the renowned intellectual and theologian who was Anglican, the Card. John Henry Newman.

The rest of the new saints are women. Among them is Irma Dulce, Sister Dulce, who will be the first Brazilian-born female saint. Many compare her to Mother Teresa.

The Roman Sr. Giuseppina Vannini, co-founder of the Congregation of the Daughters of St. Camillus, will also be canonized; the Indian Sr. Maria Teresa Chiramel, founder of the Congregation of the Holy Family of Thrissur; together with Marguerite Bays, a seamstress who dedicated her life to the apostolate and catechesis.

After celebrating the canonizations, Pope Francis will pray the Angelus.
