CarbonZ is a practical application that calculates the CO2 emissions of people, companies and industries and helps to neutralize the emissions by planting trees.

“All of our daily consumption, like electricity, water, waste, fuel and transport has a carbon coefficient. Therefore, it was very easy to design a simple algorithm of how much carbon a person releases. Then, that person can neutralize it or we can neutralize it by planting trees in degraded areas.”
The application was designed by young Brazilian engineer Gabriel Estevam Domingos. He explains that by calculating and neutralizing the carbon emissions, the user receives a certificate with the coordinates of the planted trees' locations.

“I find it very easy to see that it's a question of survival. If we don't moderate our consumption model and think of future generations, then we won't have any more resources. Today we know that biodiversity preserves all natural resources.”
The app allows the plantation to be controlled by a CQ code that indicates its location, date of plantation, species and other information.
About 4,000 trees have already been planted and they hope to continue planting more.
CarbonZ is available in iOS and Android operating systems.
