Pope Francis met patients, doctors and volunteers of the Don Gnocchi Foundation, an organization that dedicates itself to providing healthcare to the needy. He asked them not to tire of serving and to integrate the action of evangelizing into their work.

POPE FRANCIS
“The significance and value of health professions and services provided to sick brothers are fully manifested in the ability to combine competence and compassion. Competence is the fruit of your preparation, experience and updating; all this is backed up by the strong motivation to serve their suffering neighbor.”

Pope Francis reminded them that this is “a motivation in which the Christian is animated by the charity of Christ.”

He said that compassion is about “suffering with” and encouraged them to continue living in example of the good samaritan.
