LIVE: Pope visits Sophia University in Tokyo

On his last day in Japan, the pope goes to Sophia University, the Catholic university founded by the Jesuits in 1913.

The visit is divided into two parts, one private and the other public. The private portion begins at 7:40 a.m. local time, with Mass celebrated by Pope Francis, breakfast and a meeting with the members of the Society of Jesus.

The public portion starts with an official meeting with the pope and the university chancellor. Both deliver a speech in front of students and professors. Afterward, Pope Francis heads to the airport to return to Rome.
