As the Christmas season continues, Pope Francis will celebrate Mass for the solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord in St. Peter's Basilica. The liturgy is set to start at 10 a.m. Rome time, on Monday, Jan. 6.

The feast recalls the visit of the three magi to baby Jesus in Bethlehem. There they brought him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

Last year, the pope said in his homily that the magi represent all people. He said “only those who leave behind their worldly attachments and take on a journey find the mystery of God.”

After Mass, Pope Francis will pray the Angelus and greet pilgrims gathered in St. Peter's Square.
