During Regina Coeli this Sunday, the pope prayed for patients of the coronavirus, and for health personnel who take care of them.

In addition, he said he supports international collaboration initiatives that have been launched in response to the crisis.

POPE FRANCIS
It is important to unite scientific capacities, in a transparent and disinterested way, to find vaccines and treatments, and guarantee universal access to essential technologies that allow each infected person, in every part of the world, to receive necessary health care.

In his homily, the pope reflected on the parable of the Good Shepherd, who is the only voice heard by the flock. Pope Francis asked Catholics to learn to distinguish the voice of God from the voice of the enemy.

POPE FRANCIS
The voice of the enemy distracts us from the present and wants us to focus on fear of the future or sadness of the past. The enemy does not want the present - remember the bitterness, the memories of the damage suffered, from those who have hurt us... there are so many bad memories. Instead, the voice of God speaks to the present.

The pope also explained the voice of God and that of the devil pose completely different questions.

POPE FRANCIS
God's question will be, 'What is good for me?' Instead, the tempter will insist on another question, 'What do I feel like doing?' What do I feel like? The voice of evil always revolves around the ego, its impulses, its needs, everything and right now. It is like the whims of children: everything and now.

After the prayer, as he has also done every other week, the pope leaned out the window of his study before the completely empty St. Peter's Square to bless the city and the world.
