In some regions of Italy, the lockdown has lasted more than two months. Restarting activities is a gradual process, and only small groups can attend Mass at the same time.

“When, after 70 days of suspension, they said we could return to Mass, we immediately thought we had to do something useful for our community.”

Ilaria, Matteo and Fr. Giacomo designed a website so people can reserve seats at church or find out if it is already full. If that's the case, the user can decide whether to go to Mass at another time or a different parish.

MATTEO MANZINELLO
“It only takes three clicks to get it done. FLASH The user can easily choose which Mass to go to by checking seat availability. At that point, the system generates a code which the user can write down or print out. Then the Mass-goer must show the code to whomever is manning the entrance at the parish church.”

The website is updated by parish priests, who add Mass times and the number of seats available in their respective churches. On the website, there is also a space for announcements. Vadoamessa.it is an example of creative solutions in times with many restrictions.
