LIVE: Pope Francis celebrates Mass for World Day of the Poor

At 10 a.m., local time, the Pope will celebrate Mass for World Day of the Poor. The theme this year is “The poor you will always have with you,” taken from the Gospel of Mark.

Some 2,000 poor people will attend the celebration.

At the end of Mass, the Vatican will provide lunch to participants.

From noon to 6 p.m., the Vatican will set up a medical center where people in need can get tested for COVID, Hepatitis C and HIV.
