The Holy See Press Office released an update on Pope Francis' health condition. He has been diagnosed with bronchitis and prescribed antibiotics to treat the infection.

According to doctors, the antibiotics are causing 'the intended effects,' as there has been 'noticeable improvement' in the Pope's health. He is expected to be discharged in the next few days.

Pope Francis was admitted to Rome's Gemelli Hospital to recover from a respiratory infection that forced him to cancel several of his events this week. At the age of 86, he is not known to have any other serious health problems.
