"Each year we make great selections. We choose highly artistic nativity scenes. We narrow it down to the best exhibits. It doesn't matter where it comes from. We've made such great selections that the New York Times has recommended our event as one of six to visit worldwide.

The exhibit features more than 100 nativity scenes from all over Italy, and the world.

They range from gargantuan displays, full of light and movement, to smaller scale exhibits that can easily fit in person's hand.

Organizers expect up to 40 thousand visitors this year. But the tradition extends beyond this exhibition hall.

"We've have begun to see more of these types of exhibits across Italy and Europe. We've seen nativity scenes at schools. What we have done is give this tradition a new impulse to grow.

That growth, they say, will be reflected in their event.

Whether they're made from pasta, or made of glass, the more submission that come in, the better the event will be in the future.
