The Pope's advisory group is getting ready for its next round of meetings in Rome. The three day meeting will start on Monday, September 15th. Their mission is clear.

CARD. GEORGE PELL
Secretary for the Economy
'The reform of the Curia. No, nothing else.

Australian Cardinal George Pell is one the Pope's counselors. Since the month of February, he's also the Vatican's Secretary for the Economy, which means that ultimately he will oversee all Vatican accounts.

Currently he's working on his first major consolidated budget, which will include all Vatican departments, councils and Congregations.

CARD. GEORGE PELL
Secretary for the Economy
'The Council for the Economy, through the Secretariat, will have to approve it. We aim to have it done by the end of this year but it may be early next year.

In fact the role Pell holds as Secretary for the Economy is one of the key reforms that have been carried out in the last year, when Pope Francis assembled the Council of Cardinals.

But it's still a work in progress. The Vatican's spokesperson, Federico Lombardi says the major reforms will probably be implemented by next year.
