'The Lord gives me life. He gives me strength to go forward and keep going until I die. Because it is my vocation and I like to do good as a member of the Society of Christ Jesus. I do as much good as I can for everyone I can.'

Meeting the Pope was one of her greatest dreams, and she was finally able to make it a reality during her visit to Rome.

'To see Pope Francis so closely was amazing. And the moment came when he passed us in line. It was not a long time and he told me, 'Very good. Go forward, go forward.'

She met Pope Francis after his general audience and was able to tell him her story. She says that it was one of the most unforgettable moments in her life.

'He took my hand and said: 'How good, how good, how good! The Lord will continue to help.' And I said, 'Yes, and I will continue until I die with them.'

Several books could be written about her life, and Guadalupe smiles just thinking about it. She came to India in 1948 to work with people who suffer from leprosy and that was her first and only move. She has lived there for 57 years. She was the first nun to arrive in a part of India that had never been introduced to the Gospel. There are now 50,000 Catholics there. She even worked with Mother Teresa.

Over the years, she has treated thousands of injuries. She said that if she could do it all again, she would without a doubt.

'Would I do it again? I believe so. I would do it again because my vocation is missionary work.'

Guadalupe asks for assistance for her work because there is never enough money to help all the families who need it. She says that despite all the troubles, that place and those people mean everything to her.
