In preparation for the 7th World Day of the Poor, Pope Francis released his message, emphasizing the need for \u201cdaily efforts to welcome the poor.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Pope explains that there are new forms of poverty. It includes children deprived of their futures and people in war-torn countries.<\/p>\n

He challenges every Christian to become \u201cpersonally involved\u201d in combatting the \u201cgreat river of poverty traversing our cities.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>The World Day of the Poor which we are celebrating asks us to not look away, to not be afraid to take a close look at the suffering of the most vulnerable.<\/em><\/p>\n

Last year, the Vatican resumed its initiative of setting up a mobile clinic in St. Peter's Square to offer medical services to the needy on the World Day of the Poor.<\/p>\n

This year the day will be celebrated on Sunday, November 19.<\/p>\n
