At the end of his General Audience on Wednesday, Pope Francis greeted a group of the Spanish Civil Guard, usually deployed in Israel and Palestine.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Taking advantage of the presence of the Civil Guard, which is in Jerusalem (inaudible). I wanted to thank them for what they do to keep the peace and for their work against all kinds of terrorism. May God bless you. Pray for me.<\/em><\/p>\n

Immediately afterwards, Pope Francis went to Rome's Gemelli Hospital for surgery.<\/p>\n
