This sculpture was almost completely destroyed in the Spanish Civil War, but it has been given a new lease on life due to  \u201cvideomapping\u201d developed by Artisplendore.<\/p>\n<p>They use a combination of lights and sounds to bring the work to life.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FRANCISCO MOYA<br \/>\nArtisplendore, CEO<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>When you are in front of the statue, with the images projected onto it, you are directly experiencing what it reveals.<br \/>\nWithout speaking a single word, it communicates many concepts of the Piet\u00e0.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The origin of this copy is unknown. In 1931, the piece was found by a Spanish Consul who was attending Bolonia's sculpture competition. Since the consul's mother, Piedad, had recently passed away, he bought Michelangelo's replica to preside over her burial chapel in Spain.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FRANCISCO MOYA<br \/>\nArtisplendore, CEO<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>The red and blue of the Virgin, the red of the passion and obviously the flesh color of the son.<br \/>\nThen, you see the Piet\u00e0 with color, and more importantly, the heartbeat of the mother brings life to her son.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>For Moya, this type of project is an example of how to attract new audiences to sacred art.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FRANCISCO MOYA<br \/>\nArtisplendore, CEO<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>I believe that it is essential to use modern communication methods to appeal to the audience of today, and not the society of 50, 80 or 200 years ago.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>There are over 80 replicas of the Piet\u00e0 around the world, with the original in Saint Peter's Basilica.
