This month of May, the Pope begins a cycle of three prayer intentions dedicated to the family. He has decided to begin by speaking first to young people, who \u201cwant to build something new.\u201d He offers them an example to follow: \u201cWhen I think of a model with whom young people can identify with, our Mother, Mary, always comes to mind.\u201d Francis asks young people to take risks like she did, keeping in mind that they \u201cneed to discern and discover what Jesus wants\u201d from them.<\/p>\n
In this discernment, Francis says, \u201cit\u2019s a great help to listen to the words of grandparents.\u201d And he proposes three companions for their life journey: courage, knowing how to listen, and dedication to service.<\/p>\n
\u201cSpeaking about the family, I would like to begin by addressing the young people first. <\/p>\n
When I think of a model with whom young people can identify with, our Mother, Mary, always comes to mind: her courage, the way she knew how to listen, and her dedication to service.<\/p>\n
She was courageous and determined to say \u201cyes\u201d to the Lord.<\/p>\n
You young people, who want to build something new, a better world, follow her example, take risks!<\/p>\n
Don\u2019t forget that in order to follow Mary you need to discern and discover what Jesus wants from you, not what you might think you can do.<\/p>\n
