He's guitarist and vocalist Rub\u00e9n de Lis.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RUB\u00c9N DE LIS<br \/>\n<\/strong><em>\u201cI wanted to compose a song that communicates a message to young people, encouraging them to get up and bear witness. The idea was to combine gaitas, which are traditional instruments from Galicia, and rock and roll, which has a lot of character. You listen to the song, dadada, dadada, dadada. You can't stop listening. 'So come to Santiago!'\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Rub\u00e9n de Lis is a musician and composer, but he doesn't make religious music. Instead, he makes music with a message.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RUB\u00c9N DE LIS<br \/>\n<\/strong><em>\u201cI always have two slogans. One is, 'I can do all things through Christ.' And I always use that when I give talks to young people. The other slogan is 'Living the supernatural life in the most natural way possible.'\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The European Youth Pilgrimage to Santiago will take place from Aug. 3 to 7. And Pope Francis' attendance is still a possibility.<\/p>\n<p>Rub\u00e9n de Lis likes to describe Pope Francis in musical terms, and he compares him to an artist who makes simple pop music.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RUB\u00c9N DE LIS<br \/>\n<\/strong><em>\u201cEveryone loves the Beatles, whether they're a jazz, rock or blues musician... and the Beatles' songs, look... (\u2026) Two chords. Period. The simple is the most beautiful. Ed Sheeran too... 'I found a love, for me...' G. E minor. C. D. Then look, those two examples, musically speaking, filled stadiums. The Beatles and now Ed Sheeran, with his guitar. Pope Francis is the same, with his closeness and simplicity. And the world loves him for that, for that simplicity.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Rub\u00e9n de Lis is preparing to play his song in front of thousands of young people in Santiago de Compostela.
