Pope Francis resumes an important tradition that was put on hold last year because of the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, Jan. 9, the Pope will baptize a number of newborns, most of them children of Vatican employees, in the Sistine Chapel, a popular tourist destination and home to Michelangelo's stunning frescoes.<\/p>\n
During his homily, the Pope usually addresses the families of the newly baptized, reminding parents of the importance of transmitting the faith to their children with their own faith life.<\/p>\n
POPE FRANCIS The morning celebration takes place on the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord.
