On May 15, 2022, Pope Francis will canonize Charles de Foucauld, who introduced the faith to the Tuareg people.<\/p>\n
The last canonization the Pope celebrated was on Oct. 13, 2019.<\/p>\n
The Vatican had announced Charles de Foucauld's canonization, but had not set a date because of the pandemic.<\/p>\n
Charles de Foucauld lived between the 19th and early 20th centuries. He left his native France to evangelize among the Tuareg people in the Sahara.<\/p>\n
FRAN\u00c7OIS VAYNE At the same ceremony on May 15, Pope Francis will canonize another six blesseds.<\/p>\n Among them is a layman from India, Devasahayam Pillai.
