She was beatified in Ko\u0161ice three years ago.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>During World War II, she was murdered for resisting a rape attempt at only 16 years old.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>FR. TOM\u00c1\u0160 TUPTA<br \/>\n<\/strong>Blessed Anna Koles\u00e1rov\u00e1 Pastoral Center<br \/>\n<em>\u201cShe refused the Russian soldier who wanted to abuse her, and for that reason and the reason of her faith she was shot two times.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Fr. Tom\u00e1\u0161 Tupta is the vice-rector of the Blessed Anna Koles\u00e1rov\u00e1 pastoral center in Slovakia, which helps young people deepen their faith. He says that the Pope's visit is a special opportunity to highlight Blessed Anna's life to Slovakia's youth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FR. TOM\u00c1\u0160 TUPTA<\/strong><br \/>\nBlessed Anna Koles\u00e1rov\u00e1 Pastoral Center<br \/>\n<em>'It is very strong especially because of young people who are here, and especially the Pope wants to meet with her, and especially in that place with that special topic it's very great.'<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In 2018, Anna Koles\u00e1rov\u00e1 was beatified in Ko\u0161ice's Lokomotiva stadium.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Pope Francis will address young people there for one of the largest gatherings of his trip to Slovakia.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>JM<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>September 14, 2021.
